Kids love to play Around the World! You can use this game to practice vocabulary, verbs, or even some grammar phrases. It is so fun and easy!
Just pull together a group of flashcards that you would like your students to practice. Begin with two students standing and show them a flashcard. The first student to shout out the correct word moves to challenge the next student.
Whichever student wins that “one on one” moves to challenge the next student, and so on. Whenever a student loses, he/she stays in the seat where he/she lost. Play continues around the room until one player makes it back to his/her own seat.
With vocabulary I like to show only the pictures, and students shout out the Spanish word. With verbs, I show the English so they have to shout the Spanish. My students love this game!
The small picture cards above without words on them are the activity pictures that come in all Spanish for You! themed packages. They cover all the vocabulary found in a themed package book. The other cards are from the optional teacher classroom flashcards. These are all provided as PDF downloads so you can print for activity use. ALL these cards can be purchased separately HERE if you’re interested.
You can find instructions for Around the World on my Curriculum Activities page. The instructions include variations for use with really small groups or two students.
Enjoy!
